MOBILE UNIT HEALTH PROMOTION ACTIVITY IN WELCOMMON: PERSONAL HYGIENE

13 children from Welcommon have enjoyed the Personal Hygiene Health Promotion Activity carried out by Red Cross Mobile Unit Team in collaboration with Welcommon staff on the 11th of August.

The aims of the activity are:
  • To inform children about benefits of personal hygiene
  • To encourage good personal hygiene practices and healthy habits
  • To improve health and well-being of the individual and the community
  • To prevent the onset and development of diseases                            
  • To facilitate interpersonal relationships
  • To contribute to the formation of a positive self-image

MOBILE UNIT VACCINATION CAMPAIGN AND STUDENT'S HEALTH CHECK IN HRC SHELTER FOR UNACCOMPANIED MINORS Red Cross Mobile Unit team organized a vaccination campaign and student's health check in Hellenic Red Cross Shelter for unaccompanied minors on the 26th of September in order to enroll children to the liceum. The student health card (adym in Greek) is a legal annual document, mandatory for all students when they register in Greek schools. During this procedure, a yes/no questionaire needs to be filled in order to detect any signs of cardio-pulmonary diseases (mostly, but only). After that, a full clinical examination needs to be performed in all the systems. FIRST AID TRAINING IN WELCOMMON SHELTER Mobile Unit team performed a First Aid Training to Welcommon for french speakers beneficiaries on September 20th. The objective of the activity was to train the participants on basic knowledge of immediate, adequate and provisional care provided to injured or sick people before being cared for in a care center with the following priorities: 1. Conserve Life 2. Avoid physical and psychological complications 3 . Helping recovery 4. Ensure the transfer of the victims to a care center Next First Aid training for Farsi speakers in Welcommon will be performed the 4th of October at 11:00h.
